Vetiver root extract oil

Vetiver extract is a premium organic extract from the rhizome Chrysopogon zizanioides, commonly known as vetiver or khus, a perennial bunchgrass of the family Poaceae. It is processed by supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) and steam distillation. The extract is thick and ranges in colour from golden-brown to amber – brown to olive. It exudes a strong aroma that smells earthy, woody, and rich. The important compounds that impart the characteristic vetiver odor are: khusimene, δ-selinene, β-vetivenene, cyclocopacamphan- 12-ol, vetiselinenol, khusimol, isovalencenol, khusimone, α-vetivone, and β-vetivone. The essential oil exhibits anti-septic, anti-spasmodic, and immune-stimulating properties. It is warming and sedative, stimulates circulation, soothes feelings of anger, anxiety, exhaustion, irritability, and stress.
